What client tags are for
Tags let you group and label clients by any criteria that makes sense for your business, such as industry, billing type, priority level, or project phase. Tags appear as colored badges on your client list so you can scan and organize at a glance.
Creating a tag
- 1
Open a client from the Clients list.
- 2
Find the Tags section on the client detail page.
- 3
Type a tag name and press Enter, or click the plus button.
- 4
Pick a color from the 10-color preset palette.
- 5
Save. The tag is created and applied to that client immediately.
Tags are shared across your account. Once you create a tag, you can apply it to any client. You do not need to re-create the same tag for each client.
Applying existing tags to clients
- 1
Open a client detail page.
- 2
Click the Tags field.
- 3
Start typing to search your existing tags, or scroll the list.
- 4
Click a tag to apply it. A client can have multiple tags.
Viewing tags on the client list
Your Clients page shows colored tag badges on each row in the desktop table view and on each card in the mobile view. This gives you an instant overview of how your clients are organized without clicking into each one.
Managing tags in Settings
The Tags tab in Settings is your central place to manage all tags across your account.
- 1
Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
- 2
Click the Tags tab.
- 3
You will see a list of all your tags with client counts.
- 4
Click a tag to edit its name or color.
- 5
Click the delete icon to remove a tag. It will be removed from all clients automatically.
The client count shown next to each tag in Settings helps you see which tags are in active use and which ones you might want to clean up.
